Degree: BA Archaeology (Year 2)

Amie Kirby

From: Manchester

Optional modules taken: Advanced Skills (Palaeolithic Art, and Ceramics); Becoming Roman; Ancient Mediterranean Civilisations of the East and West; Eastern Mediterranean World in the Bronze Age.

Current interests/specialisms: the Near East (particularly in the Bronze Age), Cultural Heritage Management and Museum Curation, Artefact Studies.

Why you chose to study Archaeology: I've always loved world history, and as I grew older I realised I was more interested in the matter by tangible means, i.e. material culture.

Favourite thing about Durham's department: The sheer amount of opportunities that are available courtesy of our fabulous and enthusiastic staff. Anyone is willing to help you seize opportunities with both hands, you just need to know who to ask!
